Pixar's Up wasn't that great. And the sad thing is I called it from the very first preview.

I feel there was too much action and not enough heart. The story was too complicated and for some reason didn't seem to reflect the Pixar sense of "what if." The first chunk of the movie was used to explain the plot by giving us this long background story about the main character and his wife which I didn't really get into. Way too much explaining in this movie. It should have been kept simple. The other problem was I didn't really like the characters. I mean, they were alright, but I was very detached from them by the end of the movie.

Sorry, I didn't intend to write that much about it. It just didn't feel like a Pixar movie. It felt like a Dreamworks movie with all the risque jokes cut out.

This has been a rather disappointing day for me, not to mention frightening. My grandmother got in a car accident and now she's in the hospital for God knows how long. Broke her wrist, a rib, her clavicle, and has slight bleeding in her brain. And if her leg doesn't get better soon, she could be spending the next few weeks in a speciality hospital.

Dang it! As if my family didn't have enough to worry about...
